Key Responsibilities: Dive into Technical Depth! 

1. Engineer the Distribution Network: Design and optimize our cooperative'spower distribution system, incorporating emerging technologies to support growth and efficiency. 
2. Support Operations and Engineering: Collaborate with Network Operations Managers and Distribution Engineering teams to enhance system performance.
3. Engage in Advanced Studies: Perform in-depth project designs, system analyses, coordination studies, voltage assessments, power quality evaluations, cost estimates, field staking, record management, and contractor supervision—addressing the demands of large loads and expanding infrastructure.
4. Maintain the System Model: Update and refine our electrical model, including geographic mapping, line configurations, and substation strategies to accommodate ongoing growth.
5. Manage Permitting Processes: Initiate, prepare, and negotiate requiredlocal, state, and federal permits and zoning approvals for ambitious projects. 
6. Contribute to Resilience Efforts: Assist in storm restoration operations, applying analytical skills to restore service swiftly.
7. Develop Strategic Plans: Aid in crafting operational strategies and annual budgets that align with technological advancements and growth objectives.
8. Implement Construction Plans: Participatein the creation and execution of construction work plans focused on innovative, scalable solutions. 
9. Optimize forEfficiency: Make data-driven decisions to deliver cost-effective designs that reduce outage durations and enhance reliability.

The role may involve irregular hours during emergencies or storms, including nights and weekends, with occasional travel for professional development, conferences, and meetings—both in-state and out.

Position Specifications: Prepare for a Demanding Yet Rewarding Role! 

Physical: This position combines office-based analysis with field work, requiring coordination, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and effective oral communication. Occasional physical demands include bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and crouching, alongside frequent use of office equipment like computers, keyboards, two-way radios, telephones, and fax machines. 

Mental: Focus on processing critical information accurately, often under time constraints or in high-stakes scenarios. Expect prolonged periods of intense concentration, with potential stress from deadlines or emergencies.

About Victory Electric Cooperative Association

The Victory Electric Cooperative Association, Inc., serves an area of southwest Kansas that includes a diverse agricultural, rural and urban territory. Victory serves Ford and Gray Counties and parts of seven other counties, Kiowa, Edwards, Hodgeman, Finney, Haskell, Meade, and Clark. Victory was organized in 1945 to serve primarily farm residential services. Through the years, Victory has expanded to a broad consumer base of diversified loads ranging from industrial, commercial and irrigation loads with 3,200 miles of transmission and distribution line. Victory is a progressive rural electric cooperative that takes pride in providing good service whether it be to cowboys or to computer programmers, we still have the cooperative spirit.
