Assistant Greens Superintendent City of Owensboro – Parks & Recreation Owensboro, Kentucky Full-Time | Non-Civil Service
The Assistant Greens Superintendent serves as a lead member of the golf course maintenance team at the City of Owensboro’s municipal golf facility. This position assists in overseeing daily maintenance operations, supervising staff, and supporting the Golf Course Manager in maintaining high-quality playing conditions and safe operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and supervise temporary and/or part-time employees and volunteers as authorized
Oversee and perform routine daily golf course maintenance operations
Assist with construction and renovation projects on the golf course
Maintain and repair golf course maintenance equipment
Apply pesticides in accordance with regulatory standards
Operate and drive various equipment and vehicles
Maintain greens and other course features to established standards
Provide professional advice, assistance, and recommendations related to golf course maintenance
Assist the Golf Course Manager with:
Safety and evacuation procedures
Event coordination with organizers
Inventory control of equipment and supplies
This role involves both supervisory responsibilities and hands-on labor in all aspects of golf course maintenance.
