JOB DUTIES Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Operations, the Facilities Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of staff engaged in grounds maintenance, general maintenance, custodial services, and skilled trades. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance, repair, renovation, and upkeep of campus buildings, systems, and grounds.

Supervise and coordinate the work of staff engaged in maintenance, repair, cleaning, and upkeep of campus buildings, grounds, furnishings, fixtures, classrooms, offices, restrooms, dining areas, and common/public spaces.
Oversee grounds operations and ensure campus environments are clean, safe, accessible, and well maintained.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and support staff assisting other departments as requested, including equipment upkeep and supply management.
Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders; distribute tasks to Team Leaders and Technicians; follow up to ensure timely and quality completion.
Requisition tools, equipment, materials, and supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures and approvals.
Conduct routine inspections of work sites, facilities, and ongoing projects to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and institutional policies.
Develop work schedules; estimate labor, materials, and costs for projects and routine maintenance activities and minor capital renovations.
Interpret College policies, train work force, identify, and report safety regulations.
Establish and adjust work procedures to meet operational demands, service levels, and production schedules.
Recommend improvements to working conditions, methods, and equipment to enhance safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Analyze operational and personnel issues; provide guidance and support to resolve work-related challenges.
Motivate staff to achieve performance goals and maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Collaborate with Team Leaders, supervisors, managers, and other departments to Perform hands-on work alongside staff as needed during peak workloads, emergencies, or special projects.
Performs daily inventory of work orders and assign to the appropriate Team Leader or Technician, regularly follows up and reviews to ensure completion of the same.
Monitor supply inventory and maintains appropriate stock levels for assigned areas.
Maintain and update "Right to Know" documentation for assigned areas and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Provide general safety training and oversight to ensure safe work practices and compliance with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly manages and supervises employees at multiple campus locations within the Facilities and related divisions, departments and operations. Carries out managerial and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the College's policies, rules and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
WORKING CONDITIONS Mandatory:
Participate in snow removal and emergency response operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Base of operations and assignments may vary; employee must be able to work at any campus or location as assigned.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving privileges throughout employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, specifications, and technical manuals for building systems and equipment.
Ability to conduct detailed inspections of new construction, renovations, or capital projects, and provide recommendations as needed.
High level computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), as well as work order management software and mobile device integration. Ability to learn new software programs.
Working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, financial and purchasing practices, and supervision of staff.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards including PEOSH, OSHA, IAQ, IPM, Lead/Copper regulations, and other local, state, and federal requirements affecting facilities operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; completion of a recognized vocational/technical program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible facilities maintenance experience.
Journey-level experience in multiple trades and phases of construction and maintenance (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general maintenance).
Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or coordinating work crews in a facilities or construction environment.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate institutional vehicles as required.

Aerial Lift Training Certification
Experience working in an institutional, campus, healthcare, or large commercial environment.
