About Fannin Electric Cooperative:
Fannin Electric Cooperative was born in 1937 by a handful of farmers and local business leaders to provide electricity to rural families of Fannin County, Texas. By the end of 1938, the first 100 plus miles of electrical line were serving over 200 families and generating enthusiasm from the surrounding rural areas for the new concept of having electrical power to rural homes and businesses. As the not-for-profit cooperative has grown into the 21st century, the foundation of supplying reliable electricity to members at reasonable rates has continued to grow the cooperative to over 12,000 meters primarily in Fannin County, but also serving connected areas of Collin, Grayson, Hunt, and Lamar counties. Geographically located northeast of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, the slow steady growth of the cooperative in the past is evolving to more rapid growth of services around new lakes such as Bois D’Arc Lake and Lake Ralph Hall as well as new housing developments and businesses. While growing into the 21st century, Fannin Electric Cooperative remains committed to serving its members with the most reliable and cost-effective electrical services ...possible through its employees and technological innovations that make our cooperative a great asset to northeast Texas.
