• Oversees the overall management, operation, development, and administration of MTAA airports. • Maintains and improves airport facilities and property in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, FAA regulations, sponsor assurances, and Board policies. • Ensures compliance with FAA programs and regulations, including airport certification, airspace protection, noise compatibility, grant administration, and airport security requirements. • Oversees compliance with law enforcement and fire department operational standards. • Coordinates airport development and improvement projects with engineering and development teams. • Manages airport budgets and financial activities to support efficient and cost-effective operations. • Advises the Board on strategic goals, objectives, and operational matters. • Implements Board policies, directives, and organizational priorities. • Provides reports and updates to the Board as requested. • Supervises and manages MTAA personnel directly or through department heads. • Performs additional duties assigned by the Board to support airport operations and organizational success.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required. MBA or higher advanced degree preferred.
With eight (8) to ten (10) years of work-related experience in a similar role with the proven ability to make critical decisions and to drive positive operational and financial performance is required OR, any equivalent combination of training and /or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Intermediate computer and word processing skills, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of airport construction practices with respect to horizontal and vertical construction.
Knowledge of employment practices and related laws, regulations and standards.
Ability to provide strategic direction, leadership and vision to MTAA employees.
Ability to effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions, both verbal and written.
Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently and in team settings.
Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
Maintains stability and operates effectively during emotional and stressful situations.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of MTAA.
Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to speak and hear, sit, stand, walk, reach and use hands.
Ability to read computer screens for an extended period of time.
Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Ability to travel, as needed. Valid driver’s license is required.
