Good Faith Salary Range: The annual starting salary for this position is between $90,000 to $135,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Duties/Responsibilities:
This role is based in Shorewood, IL and reports to the Director of Architecture in Mattoon, IL, collaborating closely across both locations.
Lead architectural projects across K–12, commercial, and private-sector markets from programming and conceptual design through construction administration
Collaborate closely with in-house engineering teams (structural, civil, and MEP) to deliver fully coordinated design solutions
Translate client goals, operational needs, and budgets into functional, code-compliant, and constructible designs
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, life safety, accessibility, and education-specific regulations
Serve as a primary point of contact for school districts, commercial clients, and private owners
Lead client meetings, design workshops, and presentations to stakeholders and governing bodies
Support construction administration, including review of submittals, RFIs, and site observations
Support value analysis, constructability reviews, schedule and budget management
Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Support design quality, consistency, and technical accuracy across projects
Assist in resolving technical challenges and responding to construction-phase questions as needed.
Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of building codes, materials, and construction methods
Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical concepts clearly
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent analytical and critical-thinking abilities with strong attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative mindset with proven success working in multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
Experience in infrastructure, industrial, or engineered structures environments
Exposure to large or multi-disciplinary project teams.
Experience supporting projects from conceptual design through construction completion.
Required Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
Licensed Architect
10+ years of professional experience, including K–12 educational facilities and commercial or private-sector projects
Experience working in an integrated architecture and engineering firm
Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and interdisciplinary coordination
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to occasionally travel Mattoon, IL and to job sites.
